A compound called SLS, or sodium lauryl sulfate, lurks in not just your toothpaste, but almost all products coming into contact with your skin, scalp, and eyes: that includes eye makeup, hair sprays, lipsticks, sunscreen, toothpaste, laundry detergent, conditioner, perfumes, and shampoo.
